1k coners.. 20111223-20111230

puah dengo king duk saroh kat setahung doh nok g tozengkona.. i decided to go. split second decision. i told mpc if he interested. he said he's in even only 2 of us. then we spread the words among king. of course bulu will be tba hahahaha bulu2... then z. anjemang stil in europe for family vacation. but he's in finally even he rode half way. so... 5 of us.

haji own... the man behind the scene.. i can say he is the trip advisor. this guy i tell you, when i first talking to him over the phone.. thailand is just like his hometown... he told me the places without hesitation.. like he went everyday... i think i called him more or less 3 times.. to get clearer picture of what we gonna go thru.. in fact when we are looking for the place to take the cert in mae hong son, i sms him where is the place. very nice and humble person. thank you very much haji for your advise.. one day i will meet you for a cup of coffee.. hahhaha or may be advice for loas trip... date: unknown hahahhahah(kena tanye dato b)

day 1 kuantan-patthalung

cant sleep that night. too excited i guess for a long 8 days ride. that morning was raining. after fajr i took off for rv in chukai for nasi minyak. dato b n z are waiting for me. it was pouring when i arrived in chukai.

gelap guguk... dakpelah asa buleh ride..

this is the stall. just ride behind chukai bus station. z told me this is mpc favorite place. that day i knew why hhahahha mpc... youre the man...
still pouring when we took off.. even when we stopped in kuala brang it was still raining. raining all the way till patthalung...

our favorite spot if we are using east west highway... erup sup in machang..

we met one guy riding solo to kedah. we asked him to joint us for lunch. he regularly travel to his hometown in kedah by motorcycle using this route. king always make a new friend anywhere, everywhere, anytime. especially ........

look at king bul... peluh nitik dahi towww....

we are using sungei kolok entry point instead of danok sadao.. actually we save 2 hours by using this route.. taking a break at petronas rantau panjang before entering the border. some people do not like to use this entry post since the procedure is a litlle bit tight with the rtd and imigresen.

slow and easy ride.. enjoying the views, taking pictures, cigarette break and so forth.. the route from sg kolok to pattani is so quite..

another favorite stop.. masjid kerusek in pattani. got its own history about 7 years ago. bloodshed between the army and the militia. if you go inside this masjid you can see the bullet marks all over the places. we stopped here for prayer and lite meal at the opposite stall. having mee goreng and teh tarikk...

in front of the masjid... more than 200 years masjid actually.. people are friendly here..

dato b... streching his back...

checking in chana hotel patthalung after we did not make it to thong song. our planned was thung song because earlier mpc and anjemang said they will wait for us in thung song. so we rode very nice and easy knowing our lodging already arranged by them. half way dato b received text from mpc saying they went straight to chiang mai. so what for we rush. just checking in in patthalung. furthermore dato b was not really in good shape. we consider that as well.

with the receptionist... ummmphhhh

day 2 patthalung-kanchanaburi

thinking of coffee break???? must be amazon cafe...

after a few hours ride from patthalung we stopped by a muslim restaurant outskirt of chumphon city... good food, just beside the patrol station on the left from patthalung. a few km further up you can see exit to chumphon city.

look at that.. hahahhaha when king having lunch..

dato b.. updating datin sue the location...

z... tired already??? a long way to go mann....

take a break by the roadside. cant stand any longer after lunch and ride... very tired...

amazon cafe againnn...

hahaha this is why... we always stopped at amazon cafe. its like starbuck back home..

happy couple....

sorry guys.. its my turn....

hahahahha.....

approaching kanchanburi...

a long way from home....
in the garage.. kanchanburi hotel...

look at that.. small hotel.. but ... hahahhah got mirror on the ceiling you know....

day 3 kanchanaburi-chiang mai

we kept moving right after fajr... looking for muslim breakfast. tommy with our unofficila tourist guide..

we went to the downtown but all restaurants and stalls were closed. too early..

finally we found one just right at the corner of the hotel... roti canai.....

but here in thailand people eat roti canai or roti telur with sweetened milk... taste good though. hungry i guess... hahhaha

this is the lady.. beautiful lady... looks middle eastern..

on the way the bridge of river kwai, we stopped by the war memorial. well maintain.. a few km from TBORK..

so.. this is the famous bridge... the bridge of river kwai... back in world war 2 if i am not mistaken. historical site. anyone who came across kanchanburi and did not stop by this place.. its a damn waste...

we moved on to chiang mai... thru chainat.

just pull over everytime we feel like to stop and take pictures... the weather is getting colder once you move deeper to the north of thailand... windy..

we keep looking for muslim restaurant and find one in nakhon sawan. the owner is working with uae embassy in bangkok... good food ... we had nasi arab/beryani for lunch.. late lunch...
no wonder its good you know.. look who served us hahahahhaha

saying good bye to bro tommy....

we were a little bit tired.. but still have about 200km to chiang mai. i asked around in a little town called tak if there is any muslim restaurant.... the funny thing is when we asked around what we have to say is muslin kinkau....hahhahahah all the ways almost every places this is the famous sentence used by us. the reason we looked for restaurant is to ask for masjid. in tak do not have masjid.. only small what they call balai... a local people showed us the direction. we were served with tea and crackers...

197km on the highway... not much.. but not at 1k coners.... 197km mean a lot hahhahaha... we were happy when we saw 197 chiang mai.... just easy ride because we always on schedule. only off schedule on the first day...

day 4 chiang mai-mae hong son-pai

in chiang we stayed in le meridien.. hahahhahaha dato b said we already 3 days on the bike why not we find a good hotel.. this is it. 7400 bath per nite. the most expensive hotel in 8 days.

we finally regroup with anjemang and mpc in chiang mai. they stayed in holiday in. mpc and anjemang arrived 1 day earlier... brooo... you missed a lot of things you know hahahhaha....

the road to 1k coners.. the beginning...

before we reached mae hong son, got one place very quiet and peaceful. only have one small cafe.. good coffee.

coffee break.. weather was cold and a little bit windy.

this was unexpected... hhahahah in mae sariang.. the town just before mae hong son... when we stopped for refuelling. as usual i will asked around my magic word muslim kinkau... hahhahah got one lady offering herself to bring us into the village for muslim food. we went for the first restaurant but closed. then she brought us to one house. when mpc saw the food he said this is good man.. just like backhome.. we already 4 days on the bike. start missing all the unhealthy diet backhome hahahha
the way they sell the food just like in malaysia. not a proper restaurant. just  under the house. the smell the taste, were very tempting...

we proceeds to MHS, we climbed higher, colder, as the day getting dawn.... the view, scenery is beautiful...

we stopped at the peak. if you are riding in malaysia, its just like titiwangsa in east west highway.....

finally, MHS.. not pai yet. still got almost 200km to go. 200km with coners... hahhahaha sendiri mau pikir la.....
only four of us. anjemang were too fast.. cannot catch him.... he wait for us in pai... when we arrived in pai he already relaxing...

this is the cert... if you go to MHS, by bus, motorcyles, airplane, bicycle.. you must have the cert. otherwise we wont consider you as the person who reach MHS.

nice view from MHS to pai...
this is the place we overnite in pai...
50 bath per head...
we lepak here for a while after dinner.. listening to the music and song....
pai nite market...

lantern festival...

day 5 pai-golden triangle-chiang rai

before we left pai, we had our breakfast in this little town... bubur nasik.. famous in thai..

char koy....
pai in the morning... pai is surrounded by mountains...

a lot of resort and chalet... people from all over the world come here for holiday...

dato b... sakitnyeeee..

we stayed here in chiang rai...
on the way back to malaysia maaa.....

cha'ah... replacement rider for anjemang. anjemang tired i guess.. but we understand he is the oldest rider in our group...

we stopped again in tak for lunch...

then we spent sometimes with local peolple who lives and work in masjid compound.. the lady in the middle is halimah.... anok2 comeyyy towwww...

all the girls standing in the line for the bathroom... hahahhahahahaha local people in the area came for photo sessions with king...

our second last stopped in kuala brang. the next stopped was ambs. but i dont have any pictures of it. like dato b said we started with 3 and we finished with 3.
in conclusion... we always enjoy riding... sight seeing... today i will say no to up north. tomorrow i dont know yet hahahhaha..... maybe laos but not like this. i will ship my bike somewhere... this trip will be remembered as the toughest trip i ever had.. in future may be i will face tougher trip... takes blood, sweat and tear to finish this 6000km in eight day. last word. to man pendek... i salute you.. i dont know how you do it with sportbike... if i am not mistaken, total coners we went thru is almost 3000 coners... safe ride guys... god bless king..
